Jenn Grant - Paradise Grant is a singer-songwriter from Halifax, Nova Scotia. She's been performing since 2004 and has five previous albums to her name. Her sixth album is described, at least by her label, as her "most adventurous yet, incorporating folk, rock and R&B. The record is a result of a year of working and writing with her husband, Daniel Ladwell. Watch: "Galaxies" Listen: "Paradise"

Ronald Bruner, Jr. - Triumph Ronald Bruner, Jr. is a jazz drummer who has been performing since the age of two and started his career at 15. He follows in his father's footsteps, also a drummer, who worked with artists like Diana Ross, The Temptations, and Gladys Knight. Like his father, he has worked with a wide variety of artists across various genres, even dabbling in hardcore. Sondre Lerche - Pleasure Pleasure is the eighth studio album from this Norwegian artist. The record sees him shifting away from the guitar-driven sound he's cultivated over the past fifteen years in favor of synths and drum machines. Merry Christmas from 50% Hipster!

I wanted to take a moment out this holiday season to wish everyone out there a merry Christmas! It's also a time of year for many artists and musicians to share special holiday songs and surprise recordings. Here's a sampling of what we got this year:

- Bill Murray has a new Netflix holiday special, A Very Murray Christmas. It was directed by Sofia Coppola and features appearances from other comedians and even a few musicians like Miley Cyrus, Jenny Lewis, and the band Phoenix. Phoenix got together with Murray to record a cover of the Beach Boys' "Alone on Christmas Day."

- Amazon released their Indie for the Holidays compilation, including songs from Avid Dancer, YACHT, and Langhorne Slim, along with many others.

- Sondre Lerche continued his tradition of recording a cover of one of the year's biggest hits as a gift for his fans. This year, he took on Drake's "Hotline Bling."

- Run the Jewels started a 12 Days of Christmas advent calendar, giving fans the chance to win special prizes everyday!

- Kelela released a collection of remixes from her latest EP, Hallucinogen, today. It includes reworks from Sporting Life, Kahn, and Airmax.

- A number of artists released new Christmas and holiday themed EPs and albums, including: Ariana Grande, Cassie Ramone, and Sharon Jones and The Dap-Kings.

- And, as usual, a number of one-off tracks were released by a wide variety of artists, enjoy them below!

A$AP Rocky - At.Long.Last.A$AP Lord Flacko is back with his sophomore album. A$AP Rocky is the most prominent member of one of the newest rap groups, A$AP Mob. He released his debut album, Long. Live. A$AP, in 2013 to quite a bit of fanfare. In the time between, he began to ingratiate himself into the worlds of fashion and film (he has a starring role in the film Dope), but is back to the music game this year. Little Wings - Explains Little Wings is the music project of musician Kyle Field. I started listening to his music a few years ago when I discovered his 2002 album, Light Green Leaves. I played the album on repeat for quite some time. Despite his talent, not many publications seem to know about him, or perhaps they are disinterested in his music. I missed announcements for his last two records, but thankfully I was able to catch this latest one! Listen: "Where" Listen: "By Now"

Robert Pollard - Faulty Superheroes Guided By Voices may be done as a band, but former lead singer Robert Pollard remains extremely prolific even as a solo artist. This is the second of three (so far) albums slated for this year, though it's the only one under his own name. He began a new solo project earlier this year, Ricked Wicky. He released I Sell the Circus in February and has one slated for next month under that name. Listen: "Up and Up and Up" Listen: "What a Man"

Thee Oh Sees - Mutilator Defeated at Last Thee Oh Sees are also a fairly prolific act, though they stick to just one album per year, which they have done since their 2004 debut. Their latest album is the first to feature a pair of new members; Tim Hellman and Nick Murray, who were brought in as a rhythm section for the band's tour last year. The addition of these members, along with the return of some former collaborators, helps to round out the band's sound. Listen: "Web" Listen: "Withered Hand"

The Vaccines - English Graffiti The Vaccines started out on the tail-end of the British post-punk revival and their first album reflected that sound. They've challenged that style with each subsequent release, though I didn't like the results as much. While there's still some element of experimentation on this release, it seems to be a better return to form for the band. Watch: "Minimal Affection" Watch: "Dream Lover"
