Congratulations Solange!

This past weekend, Solange Knowles, little sister of Beyoncé and burgeoning indie R&B elderstateswoman, married her music video director beau Alan Ferguson. Ferguson has directed videos for many pop icons, including Solange's own sister.

Solange, who has become quite the fashion icon, wowed once again and broke tradition with a gorgeous cream-colored jumpsuit and cape.

Congratulations Sia!

I bet this girl is swinging from the chandeliers right now! Sia (of Zero 7 guest vocals, Rihanna song-writing, and now number-one hit fame) married her beau, film-maker Erik Anders Lang, over the weekend. Details on the nuptials are few, in keeping with the singer's tendency for privacy, but we do know that she is no longer a single girl.

Sia released her latest album, 1000 Forms of Fear, earlier this summer, which included her biggest hit, to date, "Chandelier."

Congratulation John McAuley!

I guess this is popular time of the year for musicians to get hitched. Earlier in this holiday season, it was The Strokes' Albert Hammond, Jr., and now, Deer Tick's lead John McAuley tying the knot. He married fellow musician Vanessa Carlton (remember her? "A Thousand Miles"). They were married by yet another musician, Stevie Nicks.

Congratulations Albert Hammond, Jr!

Two days ago, The Strokes' guitarist Albert Hammond, Jr. married his girlfriend, Justyna Sroka. To announce the marriage, Albert posted the news on Twitter, including that she had taken his last name (including the "Jr."...cute!)

Hammond penned the track "St. Justice" from his recent EP for Justyna.

Congratulations Pat Carney!

I'm trying not to be too upset that my favorite dorky, lanky rock star is now off the market! This past weekend, Patrick Carney, drummer for The Black Keys, married his long-time girlfriend, Emily Ward, in Nashville.

Looks like I may need to find myself a new rock star crush (I already got my eye on Spoon's Britt Daniel), but congratulations to Pat and Emily, nonetheless!

Congratulations Rufus Wainwright!

Oh squeeee, my first real celebrity gay wedding, this is so exciting! Late last week, singer and music royalty Wainwright married his partner, German arts administrator Jörn Weisbrodt.

The pair have a daughter, who was born to another member of music royalty, Lorca Cohen (daughter of Leonard Cohen).

Congratulation Rufus and Jörn!

Congratulations Carey Mulligan and Marcus Mumford!

Last Saturday, actress Carey Mulligan married musician Marcus Mumford in England. The two had been engaged for nine months and dating five months before that.

Carey has become one of the few truly bright points among young actresses, gaining attention for movies like An Education and Shame, getting a Best Actress nomination for her role in the former. Mumford is the frontman for folk-inspired band Mumford & Sons (I guess that makes Mulligan a step mom!).

Congratulations to the happy couple!

Congratulations Karen O!

Karen O, frontwoman of the Yeah Yeah Yeahs, Where the Wild Things Are soundtrack creator and occasional singer of Willie Nelson songs, recently announced that she was married to music video director Barnaby Clay.

Clay directed the video for the Yeah Yeah Yeah's "Zero," and has also created videos for Depeche Mode and Gnarls Barkley.

Miss O didn't specify when these nuptials happened, but I would like to wish congratulations to the happy couple!

Congratulations Paul McCartney!

Sir Paul McCartney got married earlier today to Nancy Shevell, an American trucking heiress (who knew that existed?) This was his third marriage; his first, famously, was to Linda Eastman, who passed away in 1998. His second, infamously, was to Heather Mills, they divorced in 2008.

It's well-known that his first marriage was a mostly happy one, only ending when she lost her battle with cancer. His second marriage, unfortunately, didn't end well, so I hope that this one is a good one for him, he deserves it.

Both bride and groom wore creations by McCartney's fashion designer daughter, Stella.

Congratulations Sofia Coppola & Thomas Mars!

With the barrage of "celebrity" weddings this summer that I couldn't give two craps about (Kim, I'm looking at you), it's nice to hear about the nuptials of two extraordinarily talented people. This past weekend, director Sofia Coppola married her longtime boyfriend, Thomas Mars, lead singer of the French band Phoenix.

I wish them the best! And, given that they didn't turn their ceremony into a media circus, I have faith that their relationship and real and lasting!

Erica would approve.
