Renata Zeiguer - Old Ghost Renata Zeiguer is a performer of Argentinean and Philippine descent, raised in New York City. Her music combines a variety of influences, from classical composers to more modern pop music. She released her first EP, 2013's Horizons, under the name Cantina. I hear a bit of Twin Sister in her music, an unsurprising link as she has worked with the band in the past. Watch: "Wayside" Watch: "Follow Me Down"

Screaming Females - All At Once Screaming Females have been together for more than a decade and six previous albums. In that time, they've become known for their energy when performing live. For their sixth album, they sought to capture the spirit of their live shows. The result is more experimental than their past work, but the results prove the band is even better for it! Turnstile - Time & Space Turnstile is a hardcore punk act out of Baltimore. They've previously released three EPs and one album, 2015's Nonstop Feeling. Adult Jazz - Earrings Off! While I appreciate when bands take some time between albums, I do love it when there's a quick return on a great record. Adult Jazz's debut, Gist Is, was one of my favorites of 2014, and they are back in almost no time with this new album. They haven't lost any bit of their strange, jazz-inflected brand of indie rock. It's a short album at just seven songs, but still a sweet listen. Watch: "Earrings Off!" Watch: "Eggshell"

Ariana Grande - Dangerous Woman Maybe it's my tastes that are changing, but I think pop music is better now than it has been in 20 years and miss Ariana herself is one of the bright points. She's attempting a "bad girl" re-branding on her third album. It's not very convincing, but that doesn't mean the music's not good, or that she doesn't sound the best she ever has. Car Seat Headrest - Teens of Denial Car Seat Headrest's Will Toledo may be young, but he's been incredibly prolific in his six-year career. At 23 years old, he'd already self-released 11 albums on his Bandcamp before his debut, Teens of Style, for Matador last year. While he doesn't regard his earliest releases as representative of his musical approach now, he does not shy away from their existence and they remain available for fans. While similar in name to his previous record, this album is not a sequel or outtakes record, but a new album in its own right. Watch: "Vincent" Watch: "Drunk Drivers/Killer Whales"

Marissa Nadler - Strangers Marissa Nadler employs a dreamy, doomed-sounding style of folk that makes her one of my favorite female folk singers. Her previous record, July, was a favorite of mine a couple of years ago. On her follow-up, she departs from telling her own personal stories of love and heartbreak, and focuses on stories of other characters, losing the first-person perspective. Yuna - Chapters Yuna is a Malaysian pop singer who first started writing and performing songs as a creative outlet while she was in law school. Obviously, it has since become her career. She released her first album in 2008 in her native country. Over the past eight years, she has alternated between native and international releases. Chapters is her third international album, following the Malaysian release of Material, last year. Watch: "Crush" (featuring Usher) Watch: "Places to Go"

Brendan Benson - You Were Right Brendan Benson has has as long a career as his Raconteurs bandmate Jack White, having released his debut in 1996. However, he's  flown under most people's radars. You Were Right is his sixth album and his sound continues to be rewarding. Listen: "Rejuvenate Me" Listen: "Red White and Blues"

Robert Pollard - Blazing Gentlemen Pollard's insane prolific-ness will not be stopping anytime soon. With Guided By Voices, he released English Little League in April and will release another, Motivational Jumpsuit, in February. In the meantime, we get another solo release from him! !!! - "And Anyways It's Christmas" Every year the list of artists putting out Christmas songs or albums seems to get stranger and stranger. This year's most prominent Christmas release comes from !!! (chk-chk-chk), who released a full-length album, Thriller, in April of this year. Listen: "Any Anyways It's Christmas"

Arctic Monkeys - "One for the Road"/"You're So Dark" The Arctic Monkeys made a lot of people very happy (myself included) when they released their fifth album, AM, in September. To follow up that release, they're releasing a single from the album with a great new song that didn't quite make the cut. Watch: "One for the Road" Listen: "You're So Dark"

Eric Clapton - Give Me Strength: The '74/'75 Recordings "Give Me Strength" is one of the tracks from Clapton's iconic 1974 album 461 Ocean Boulevard. This new release features the recordings from that album, along with a broader collection of Clapton songs recorded live in Long Beach, Nassau and London. Jeff The Brotherhood - Past 7" Recordings This brother duo has released a series of 7" singles throughout their 12-year career. This box set brings those various releases together into one collection. Listen: "Cancer Killer" Listen: "The Tropics"

Mexican Summer: Five Years Mexican Summer is an independent record label that has put out releases from Best Coast, Daniel Lopatin, Tamaryn, No Joy, Kurt Vile and many others; and they are celebrating their five-year anniversary. To commemmorate, they have released a limited-edition book, which comes with an LP with songs from some of the label's artists. Listen: Autre Ne Veut and Fennesz - "Alive"

Peter Morén - Broken Swenglish, Vol. 1 EP Peter Morén has become known as the lead singer of Peter Bjorn and John, and has three albums to his name as a solo artist. Starting this year, he will be putting out a series of solo Broken Swenglish EPs. Listen: "Constant Reaction"

Serengeti - C.A.B. Serengeti is a Chicago-based alternative rapper who I became familiar with when he worked with Sufjan Stevens and Son Lux as S / S / S. He has also had long solo career. Sides of Chaz - "Sweet Tea"/"Take My Car" Sides of Chaz is a new project from Toro Y Moi's Chaz Bundick. I guess he would like us to see a new side to him apart from his synthpop main act. It's just a couple of songs right now, but it will be interesting to see how it may expand as a project. Listen: "Sweet Tea"

Tame Impala - "Be Above It" (Erol Alkan Rework) Tame Impala released an absolutely incredible album, Lonerism, last year. You Be My Heart You Be My Heart is a benefit album for 826, which focuses on creative writing skills for kids.
